A First Look at Omomo Tustin: Premium Tea, Thoughtful Design, Short Lines (For Now)

There’s something satisfying about finishing a drink and immediately knowing it was worth it. That was exactly the case with my recent visit to Omomo Tea Shoppe’s Tustin location.
I ordered an oolong milk tea with cheese foam, a combination that can easily fall flat if the tea base isn’t strong enough or the foam lacks balance. Not here. The oolong carried that signature deep, roasted complexity you expect from a high-quality tea, cutting cleanly through the richness of the milk. The cheese foam added a creamy, slightly salty layer that elevated the entire drink rather than overwhelming it.
What stood out most was the ingredient quality. Everything tasted intentional—premium without feeling excessive. It’s the kind of drink where you slow down without meaning to, just to keep experiencing it.
More Than Just a Drink
Omomo Tea Shoppe has always leaned into the idea that boba can be an experience, not just a transaction, and this location fully delivers on that.
The interior design is striking. Instead of a standard boxy layout, the space features curved walls and sculpted furniture to create something that feels fluid and immersive. The atmosphere lands somewhere between calm and playful, with a polished aesthetic that reinforces the brand’s premium identity.
Even the smaller details are dialed in. The straw, for example, is a subtle but thoughtful choice: wide enough to handle the cheese foam smoothly, but not oversized like a typical boba straw. It’s a small touch, but it reflects a level of consideration you don’t see everywhere.
The Real Surprise: Short Lines (Still)
If you’ve been to other Omomo locations, you know the deal. There are lines that spill out the door and wrap around the building—that’s part of the tradeoff.
But here’s the surprising part: even after being open for a couple of months, the Tustin shop still has a relatively short wait, even on a Sunday evening. Whether that lasts is another question, but for now, it makes the entire experience feel noticeably more relaxed.
It’s also conveniently located—an easy, quick drive without the usual hassle that comes with high-demand spots.

Final Thoughts
Omomo Tustin hits that rare combination: exceptional tea, cohesive design, and a smooth overall experience. The pricing feels fair at $6.75, given the quality and the still-manageable line wait time.
If this location isn’t on your radar yet, it probably should be.
I’ll definitely be back.
